According to Ronald Blum of the NY Post, RHP Chien-Ming Wang had a setback in his recovery from a strained right shoulder. According to Blum, Wang's "biceps felt tender when he played catch before Monday night's game against Baltimore and won't attempt to throw again until Friday."
Girardi said that they will give him a few more days of rest and strengthening before Wang throws again.
In all honestly, I would be surprised if Wang throws again for the Yankees this year. Frankly, he may never pitch for the Yankees ever again. How can you trust a rotation spot to Wang at this point? Even when he wasn't getting destroyed after his first DL stint, he was still pretty lousy.
Here's hoping that Sergio Mitre can step up...
