Winter Leagues, Miranda Leads, and My Heart Bleeds

In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.
-Albert Camus

Perhaps this quote may be more appropriate around December, but I don't care - I already miss my Yankee baseball. I really haven't sat down and watched one full playoff game, and I really don't plan to. It's just too painful.

An October without Yankee baseball is like a CSI episode without the crappiness.

But what can I do? This is my outlet for my anger and my frustration. Hence, I will subject all of my readers and fellow bloggers to this.

The only thing that I can be mildly interested in baseball-wise is the Winter Leagues. Prospects given a clean slate and a chance to increase their value or maybe just prevent themselves from being released.

RiverAveBlues has been really good with frequent updates regarding the Winter Leagues - but I am only one man.
MILB.com has set up an awesome list of Winter/Fall League players by team. Definitely check it out - it's going to be where I get all of information from.

Here is the Winter League breakdown so far:
Austin Jackson and Kevin Russo are struggling (3-17 and 1-13, respectively) while Juan Miranda in a small sample (6-8, 3-2B, 1-3B) is hitting hot. Austin Romine (5-16, 2-BB) and Damon Sublett (10-30, 1-BB) are hitting well as well.
Jeremy Bleich in 12 innings walked 8, struck-out 9, and gave up 5 runs. Andrew Brackman (finally!) has given up 7 runs in 12 innings with 7 walks, but has also strucken out 12. Phil Hughes struck out 7 in 5 innings in his one game, but walked 5.
