Yeah, I'm just kidding. He looks like he has a chance to be a good starter, but it's never wise to place bets on a guy with mediocre stuff, just because of a solid September.
SEE WHAT I MEAN?
But nonetheless, six shutout innings is nothing to laugh at. Another excellent performance on the second to last day at Yankee Stadium, and he should have picked up a win on it.
However, the Yankees were once again baffled by (insert soft throwing rookie here). Brian Burres of the Orioles went seven shutout innings, before his bullpen let him down in the bottom of the 9th in a 0-0 game.
With the bases loaded, Robinson Cano hit a line-drive single up the middle with the bases loaded to win the game.
Derek Jeter, the leadoff hitter that inning, had to leave after being hit in the wrist by a pitch. He's probably injured pretty badly, but not saying anything, because obviously he wants to play tomorrow - and he will. I would not be surprised if tomorrow was the last time you saw Jeter this season, and Hideki Matsui and Andy Pettitte in a Yankee uniform.
The bullpen once again did a solid job, throwing three shutout innings (Bruney, Marte, Rivera). BUT HOW CAN THEY WIN WITHOUT JOBA IN THE BULLPEN!!111!!!
